The Aristos Quartet invites you on a musical journey. A journey in space, a journey in time, a journey into the heart of emotions. We will start with Hungary, Austria and Russia, with the Quartet op.33 number 1 by Joseph Haydn. Written in 1781 and dedicated to the Emperor, Paul I of Russia, it is a very lively piece, full of humor, where each instrument of the quartet has something to say!We will then go on to Lebanon, France and Denmark, with “Påskeblomst”. This piece was written in 2007 by Naji Hakim, a composer and organist, who was born in Lebanon and now lives in France . “Påskeblomst” (daffodil) is made of variations on a well-known Danish hymn. The hymn describes the truth of Christianity and its innermost mystery: the Resurrection. Our journey ends in 1824 in Vienna (and Italy). There, we will find Schubert and his quartet “Death and the maiden”. A very famous piece of the string quartet repertoire, this powerful and virtuosic piece brings us into a journey through human emotions.
